Extension of the Agreement on the Facilitation of Mutual Travel for Border Area Residents of Russia and Norway

On December 7, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a federal law on ratification of the Protocol on amendments to the attachment to Intergovernmental Agreement on the Facilitation of Mutual Travel for Border Area Residents of Russia and Norway, signed on November 2, 2010.

The Protocol provides for the extension of the Agreement on the part of the territory of the village of Neiden, extending beyond the 30-kilometer border zone of Norway. Now residents of this part of the village will be able to apply for a local border traffic permit. In turn, residents of the Russian border area can travel to the specified part of the village and visit a monument to the Soviet soldiers there.
